Based on data from the National Bureau of Statistics, in 2011, there were 1,416 enterprises in China's bearing manufacturing industry above the designated size (annual sales revenue of over 20 million RMB). The industry achieved a total industrial output value of 193.211 billion RMB for the year, representing a year-on-year increase of 27.59%. Sales revenue reached 191.097 billion RMB, up 30.30% from the previous year, and total profits amounted to 12.523 billion RMB, a year-on-year growth of 26.54%.
It is projected that by 2015, China's bearing production could exceed 28 billion units, with main business income expected to reach 210 billion RMB, making it the world's largest bearing production and sales base.
Currently, China's bearing industry faces three prominent issues: low industry concentration, weak research and innovation capabilities, and a generally low level of manufacturing technology.
